Reset Retreat Alumni
Burnout isn’t about doing too much or not getting enough rest.
Burnout comes from two things: Untreated codependency & self-denial.
That’s why the holiday, yoga retreat, meditation app, supplements make you feel good for a few days before the exhaustion comes back.
Burnout happens when your values has been tied…for years, maybe decades…to what you produce for other people.
You’ve lost connection to meaning, to your body, to a sense that what you’re doing actually matters.

The retreat offered a unique blend of learning to surf, psychoeducation, flow, and processing issues from my past instead of talking about them again and again.
For the first time, it felt like I could finally move on and reconnect with myself in such a deep and meaningful way. I never thought this would be possible. It made me feel unstuck. I’ve finally started to feel that I’m alive again.
Josh and Amy taught me practical skills and knowledge that I now use daily to make better decisions and take care of my wellbeing.
The surfing coaches are experts, incredibly patient and kind. They persevered with me until I stood up and surfed. It was so much fun, but also a very profound experience for me.
We worked in a group setting, which added depth to the whole process. I felt emotionally safe working through difficult parts of my past in a trusted and supportive environment.
I felt truly taken care of, not only during the retreat but also afterwards when I returned home. We have a WhatsApp group to support each other and access to the alumni portal with regular meetings and a knowledge database, which is simply priceless.
I highly recommend the Resurface retreat. It was a beautiful adventure and a powerful journey of self-discovery.
I went on the Resilience retreat in Morocco, thinking it would be something I’d do for myself, a reset, a bit of headspace, maybe some clarity.
What I didn’t realise at the time was how profoundly it would change everything.
Yes, it was transformational on a personal level. But the real impact showed up when I came home. The way I run my business, the way I think about work, pressure, leadership, and wellbeing, all of it shifted. I finally understood burnout properly: how it actually works, how it creeps in, and more importantly, how to prevent it.
Those lessons didn’t just stay with me, I implemented them across my team. And the effect has been huge. Healthier people. Better conversations. Understanding work. I’ve since been able to support not just my business, but friends, family, and others around me using what I learned on that retreat.
Josh has a rare ability to create an environment where real change happens. Not forced or fake, but deep, practical, and lasting. The setting, the day to day structure, the conversations, and the people around him are exceptional.
This wasn’t a retreat you attend, it’s one you carry with you. I honestly believe it shaped the future of my business and my life in ways I couldn’t see at the start.
If you’re even considering it, do it and message me after!
2 Trauma Resolution, and 1 Reset. Each retreat, I've left a new person.
Josh is an incredible facilitator, and the moment I landed in Morocco, to returning home again, everything was taken care of. The whole experience is so incredibly well-designed, you don't have to worry about anything except your own process and journey.
I've been on multiple other types of retreats (not just therapeutic ones), and Resurface has to be my favourite.
There's a quiet sense of assurance in Josh and the whole team, that you can tell only comes from tried and tested experience.
Balancing a highly-sensitive, therapeutic environment, with multiple people all doing therapeutic work is an incredibly tough, and often unappreciated and unrecognised skill, yet Josh seems to handle it easily.
The surf instructors are all patient, skilled and make you feel safe in the water. Outside of all the therapeutic work - I've now also learnt to surf!!
I've also gained some incredible friends from the retreat participants, and life memories I'll cherish forever.
I cannot recommend and thank Josh and the Resurface team enough for all they do!
If you're thinking about joining, GO!!
Now I'm in Costa Rica with Josh, and yesterday something shifted. I let go. I stopped focusing on "getting it" and started focusing on my body, on feeling the wave, on being one with my body.
I tried a few waves and didn't make it. But on the fifth wave, I got up and rode it all the way to the beach.
Even as I tell you this, my body starts to shiver. It was the most spectacular feeling - everything around me shut down, and all I could feel was this amazing electric energy going through my body. When I looked up, people on the beach were cheering. They'd seen me trying for two days.
That feeling - that's flow. And I haven't had that feeling for a long, long time.
But here's what Josh and this program taught me: that's MY flow, and I can access it anytime. That feeling never leaves me. It's something I can reach for in the darkest times and the happiest times. It's a memory that lasts forever.
I've learned that it's my accomplishment, measured by my standards. I let go of what everyone else's wave looked like. I wanted my best wave - the wave that works best for me and my body.
That's what Resurface is: a program that teaches you flow, passion, and accomplishment on your own terms - and gives you a feeling you can carry with you forever.
I'd found it difficult to return to 'work mode' in a professional role, after major surgery resulted in me experiencing medical trauma and later PTSD diagnosis.
Physically, my surgery had 'fixed' the problem but emotionally, it was another story; I realised I was highly reactive to the normal day to day stresses of life, snappy and irritable with my teenage daughter and generally not in a very happy place. Struggling to maintain concentration and focus whenever I tried to do anything, lacking in motivation and drive, sleeping difficulties, generally feeling depleted and lacking resilience.
In one 15 minute zoom call with Josh, I felt heard, understood, inspired and hopeful. I booked on, booked a flight and then thought 'OMG what have I done?!' - how can I cancel?... I had a few reassuring emails with Josh and somehow got myself to the airport. On landing in Agadir, I literally didn't have to think about anything else, everything was taken care of. A friendly, smiley face holding up a board with my name greeted me. I felt like I could breathe free-er even then, as he took all my bags off me.
The retreat involved a mixture of therapeutic group activities, personal reflection, surfing, yoga, and psycho-education. The other participants were an amazing bunch, ranging in age from 20's to 50's. I literally felt like I belonged in this eclectic mix of strangers from day 1. Something to do with the whole 'vibe' of the place encouraged me to relax, breathe and 'be'. Although there was also a lot of 'doing' with the surfing and the yoga, it helped shut my brain up for probably the 1st time in years.
The whole team of professionals delivering the retreat are second to none, genuinely; kind, supportive, sensitive and friendly. All the activities, from surfing to yoga to groupwork were all delivered in an inclusive, easy-going style, participation optional never compulsory, encouraged rather than dictated.
I felt like I had a 'professional understanding' of trauma, but the work in 1 week at Resurface helped me understand my own lived experience with a whole new understanding, empathy and deep level of compassion for myself. I've done quite a bit of 'personal development' work over the years and Resurface tops them all to be honest. I'm relieved, feel like I have had a weight lifted and have started to look at the future with optimism and hope again, rather than fear and dread.
The Riad is beautiful, comfy, clean and the food is plentiful and delicious. They were able to cater for my special diet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Coffee machine for all day self service was appreciated.
It also has a fab Hammam on site where on the last day, I emerged scrubbed and fresh, Insides and outsides matching ;)
I highly recommend this experience.
Maybe you're here because:

You're chronically exhausted
But still can’t switch off. Your body has crashed, but your mind won’t slow down. You’re 0-to-100 by 9am, stuck in a fight-or-flight loop that doesn’t end when the working day does. You sleep, but it doesn’t restore you anymore. You’ve lost motivation and feel emotionally detached from work and relationships.

You’re done ‘coping’
You’ve spent years being the one who handles it. The one everyone relies on. The one who doesn’t need rest. Somewhere along the way, who you are became indistinguishable from what you do for other people…and now you can’t remember what wanting things feels like. You want to reconnect with yourself, with others, and with a sense of purpose that actually excites you.

You’re reaching a breaking point
It’s not just internal anymore…your relationships feel strained, your work suffers, and even your health is paying the price. Life feels like you’re just about keeping your head above water, problems you used to easily bounce back from now feel overwhelming.
What The Reset will offer you

Resurface Continuum Program
Our journey together begins with an assessment call to explore your needs and set clear intentions, then continues long after you leave the retreat through our private community and ongoing access to our professional team to support your continued progress.

Luxury Accommodation
Stay at Dar Haven, a luxury, beautifully restored Moroccan riad with a tranquil courtyard, rooftop terrace overlooking the Atlantic, and locally-sourced Moroccan meals served full board.
Choose between shared rooms or single occupancy. We encourage shared occupancy rooms to foster connections.

Daily Surf Lessons
Step into the ocean, find your rhythm, and tap into flow…even if you’ve never surfed before.
Bringing over 15 years surf instructing experience, coach Youness helps you feel safe and empowered on the waves.
If you’ve never surfed before, we promise you’ll be standing on your board riding waves by the end of the week.

Psycho-Education Workshops
Daily workshops with Josh, our clinical director, on how burnout actually works. How your nervous system gets stuck. Why willpower isn’t enough. What flow is and how to access it. This is the science behind everything you’re doing on the retreat, and it’s the part you take home and use for the rest of your life.
You’ll learn to be more compassionate with yourself, gain practical tools to refocus, reset and sustain your balance in everyday life.

Experiential Therapy
Through guided psychodramas, we’ll work through what’s holding you back. This is where those breakthroughs typically happen. You’ll gain fresh perspectives, supportive feedback, and a renewed sense of freedom and agency in your life.
Unlike 1:1 talk therapy, this is therapy that happens with your body, not just your head. You’ll leave with the kind of insight you can’t talk your way to.

Guided Yoga, NSDR & HRV training
Heart Rate Variability is the most direct measurable indicator of your nervous system regulation. We train it daily…through restorative yoga and NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest). By the end of the week, alumni have measured HRV gains of 30% or more, sleep score improvements, and a return to states of rest their bodies had forgotten how to access.

Social Connection & Experiences
You’re joining a group of people on a similar journey. Together, you’ll form friendships and make memories that last well beyond the retreat.

Breathwork Sessions
Through guided breathwork, you’ll activate and reset your nervous system, release stored tension, and create space for greater clarity and calm. Each session is designed to gently expand your capacity for presence, resilience, and emotional balance. You’ll leave with practical breathing techniques you can integrate into daily life…tools to regulate stress, restore energy, and sustain the sense of renewal long after the retreat ends.
